Current ongoing series: Studying the native plants of the endangered Blackland Prairie Ecoregion, these gouache paintings are a simplified color and shape study of an individual plant.
After becoming a mother, my daughter has slowed down our ventures into nature in the best way possible. Watching her closely study a plant or flower from the Earth with her little hands has inspired my current series which specifically highlights the joy, colors, and shapes that emulate from plants native to our endangered ecoregion of the Blackland Praries.
